Gently Used Sale
Earlier this spring a group of enthusiastic UCW ladies organized a Gently Used Sale which was held in the Christian Education Centre on April 24 and 25. Donations from the community and our faith family included such items as: seasonal clothes, shoes, small household items, books, toys, towels, bedding and vintage items. There was something for folks of all ages and interests!
The following photos will help to give you the flavour of the event.

Setting Up
The set-up is a huge job ..... putting display racks and tables in place, and unpacking dozens of boxes and bags of donated items.
Open for Business!
As we opened to the public, this is what the shoppers saw as they entered the CEC. The household items on the tables were grouped by similar category, and the clothing on the racks were organized by size for the convenience of our shoppers, just like in a real store. And notice the signs ..... our prices were hard to beat!
Look at the treasures I found .......
Thank you Girl Guide helpers for your asistance in unpacking boxes and setting up displays!

And Finally ...
As they say ... all good things must come to an end! On Saturday afternoon the process of packing up began .... with leftover items donated to charitable institutions in the area. The proceeds of the Gently Used Sale amounted to approximately $4800. and will form part of the donations which the UCW makes to charitable projects and causes which they help to support.
Packing up!
Convenors
Here are some of the dedicated and enthusiastic convenors who organized and worked at all aspects of the sale. The convenors would like to thank those who donated items for the sale, and all the other UCW members, families (and even a few men!) who helped with various jobs like setting up and packing up at the sale. Our community of faith members can always be counted on to help with projects .... together we make a great team!
